Eat more calories without gaining fat

Some tips on how to eat more without gaining fat

Are you on your weight loss journey or you are about to start one and you're afraid that you can only eat a minimum amount of calories? Well, today we are going to give you some tips on how to speed up your metabolism. If you have a high metabolism, it means you're burning off more calories and thus can eat more during the day.

A good way to speed up your metabolism is to gain more muscle. If you have more muscle, you'll burn more calories throughout the day to support your muscle. So lifting weights and using the principle of progressive overload will increase muscle size and that will increase your metabolism which will let you eat more calories.

Increase NEAT

NEAT stands for (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis) which is the number of calories you burn when you're not working out. You can increase your NEAT by doing just simple things throughout the day, like taking the stairs, walking more. It comes down to moving more throughout the day, even things like sitting upright, nodding your head, or dancing to music increases your NEAT.

Thermic Effect of Food (TEF)

The thermic effect of food will also affect the number of calories you burn throughout the day. The TEF is the number of calories it takes to digest, absorb and store the food you've just eaten. If you for example eat a lot of fatty foods, it doesn't take a lot of energy to turn fat into body fat. However, when you eat a meal with a lot of protein, it takes much more calories to turn the protein into fat that your body can store.
